Educational Programs The primary class available to the public is the Basic Boating Safety Class. You do not have to be a member to take this class which in VA will be mandatory for all who captain a boat after 2015.
Members will join with other knowledgeable boaters in our area who are familiar with the local waters, the best anchorages, marinas, and boat repair shops.
As a member of the Squadron you are able to enroll in a great variety of advanced courses and elective courses which are only available to United States Power Squadron (USPS) members. Here are examples of what is available:

Social Activities on and off the water Members are automatically invited to join in the squadron and district cruises, rendezvous, predicted log contests, raftings, and other on-water activities.
Go to our Event-Photo page to get a sense of the fun we have on and off the water. Each cruise or "day-tripper" function gives us a chance to interact with the membership and find out about things in the squadron's area of involvement.
