Monthly Meeting

The November 8 Meeting was full of exciting activities.
We inducted our 2 newest members.
We had a presentation by the Nansemond River Preservation Alliance.
We recognized Educational Excellence for the 2010-2011 year (1 July 2010 - 30 June 2011).

SEO Frank Brown is shown in the pictures accepting the awards but Kudos and much thanks to
Immediate Past SEO P/C Lilly Stone, JN, for all she did to start the year off right.

Makes us PROUD to be a member of NRPS!!

 

Our first "official" meeting after selecting George's as our new meeting home.

Our two newest members, Kathryn Lane and Lamar Schegel are introducted by Cdr Mary Fisher prior to taking their oath.  Jack and Mary Ann Eure review a newly published book about the Chuckatuck River.

Presented to the squadron which has shown the greatest percentage increase in completion of Advanced Grades and Elective Courses over the previous year.  We had 25 members of the squadron complete Seamanship, Piloting, Advanced Piloting or other Elective classes.
   
This was the first of three wonderful awards accepted by
SEO Frank Brown on behalf of NRPS
 
We had 19 folks complete advanced grade classes. 
   
P/C Art Aikin, N and Bob Wallace, JN were recognized for achieving the USPS Educational Proficiency Award, presented to members who achieve at least Seamanship, Piloting and Advanced Piloting and a minimum of 3 elective classes. 
   
P/C Fletcher Beadles, AP received the Charles Chapman award for Excellence in the Classroom. (the flash did him in!!) NRPS Brings Home the Booty!  What a wonderful feeling!
